With victory over Sunderland last weekend, Gary Megson’s Bolton have been left all but safe from the relegation zone. Acknowledging this, the Bolton manager said, “We’ve given ourseleves a great chance of staying up but we haven’t guaranteed that, everybody’s got to realise that the job’s not done yet.”
Megson will go to Stamford Bridge looking for at least a point, but knowing it will be difficult. If United fansw are left with any doubt whatsoever, he went on to say, “Results everywhere will play a part, but it doesn;t matter, even if we didn’t need any points from the game, I expect us to play properly and to compete, I expect us to put a foot in and not short change the people who are going down there.”
And if there’s anybody in the Bolton side most desperate to get on the scoresheet, it’s Kevin Nolan – the skipper’s just one away from reaching the magic 50 goals for his club.
